Greenline Technologies Signs Definitive Agreements for the Grand Parakou Project in Benin

Parakou, Benin — [August 7, 2025] — Greenline Technologies today announced the signature of definitive agreements for the Grand Parakou project—an integrated development that combines a 10 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) plant with a Tier III-ready data facility in Parakou, Benin. The project is designed to deliver reliable, affordable power and carrier-neutral digital infrastructure to one of West Africa`s most dynamic growth corridors.

“This signature marks a pivotal step in our vision to pair clean energy with open, carrier-neutral connectivity,” said Massimiliano Sicari, VP of Sales of Greenline Technologies. “Grand Parakou will reduce diesel dependence, lower latency for businesses and public services, and create a resilient platform for cloud, fintech and e-government services in Northern Benin.”

The project was developed in close collaboration with national and local authorities and regional stakeholders. Following this signing, Greenline will move into detailed engineering, early works, and procurement, with construction to begin upon Notice to Proceed and commissioning targeted for 2026.

What the Project Delivers
  • 10 MW solar PV to bolster grid reliability and reduce generation costs and emissions.
  • Carrier-neutral data facility (Tier III-ready) to host government, enterprise and cloud workloads locally, improving performance and data sovereignty.
  • Open-access model that welcomes telecom operators, ISPs and content providers on equal terms, catalyzing competition and innovation.
  • Local content & jobs: on-site training, HSE standards, and contracting opportunities for Beninese companies during construction and operations.

By coupling renewable power with digital infrastructure, Grand Parakou helps unlock broad-based growth—supporting SMEs, education, and health while enabling secure online public services.
